This study investigated the level of pesticide residues in agricultural soil from three locations around the southern part of Nigeria namely the cocoa plantations of Alade Idanre, Owena and Saki area of Oyo State, Nigeria. Thin layer chromatographic analysis was carried out on the sample and the standards after extracted with acetone using Soxhlet apparatus. The Rf values of the soil extracted were compared with that of the standard for quantitative identification of the pesticides. The soil samples were weakly acidic and the pH ranged from 5.6 to 6.6.
